Ben + Sonja

I had so much fun with Ben and Sonja at their engagement session!! These two are just the cutest and make such a perfect pair!! They are laid back and easy going and so comfortable with one another! It hardly felt like “work” taking photos of them! Even though they grew up in the same area as one another it wasn’t until 2 years ago that they met! They went on that first date and the rest was history!

We met at Tioga Beach on Pokegema Lake to start off the session. It was a beautiful summer evening, but my was it windy! We had a blast chatting and getting to know one another as we fought the wind and strategically placed Sonja in ways that was flattering for her hair to blow in the wind! Ha! After a few photos on the trails and beach we headed over to Tioga Pit to finish off their session.

I love engagement sessions for so many reasons, but most of all I love getting to know my couples, hearing their story, and talking about the wedding! My friend asked me one time if it “gets old” to take wedding photos over and over and to celebrate the same thing each weekend. It hadn’t even crossed my mind! Each couple is so different and it is always so rewarding for me to get to know them personally, to find out what they are excited about for their wedding, and to hear about their relationship and plans for the future!
