Sugar Lake Lodge Wedding, Cohassest, MN

Britta and Kyle were married at the Sugar Lake Lodge in Cohasset, MN. It was an incredibly beautiful day and I am so excited to share a few photos with you here! This was my first time photographing a wedding at this venue and I hope it is not my last! Sugar Lake is one of the most beautiful lakes in northern Minnesota with Carribean like water! It seriously almost takes your breath away-like how can a Minnesota lake truly be so clear and aqua blue? It is just breathtaking!

It did happen to be pretty windy on the day of the wedding and I was quite hesitant to bring Britta and Kyle down to the water for photos, but they were all for it and were the best sports as the hurricane force wind tried to sweep them away! And that’s when I realized just how cool Kyle and Britta were. Britta has the most impeccable taste-every detail was thought through and beautifully coordinated. From her gorgeous flowers to her hand tied lace shoes, all of it was absolutely stunning! And even though Britta curated such a gorgeous wedding day, she was the most down to earth and flexible bride! At one point her dress was flying away in the wind so she just had Kyle step on it to hold it in place! Now that is my kind of bride!

After enduring the high winds on the beach for photos we headed back up toward the lodge for a gorgeous ceremony. There was laughing and tears and it was pretty much perfect. Then it was out on the pontoon for a post ceremony, “just married” cruise out on the lake! The guys, who were all fishing enthusiasts, geeked out over the potential fish they saw on the fish finder and everyone enjoyed a ride out in the sun as they celebrated the newlyweds!

The rest of the night was a blast, with both sentimental and hilarious speeches that had everyone in tears and laughter. The evening ended with a fun packed dance and a moonlight paddle board ride by the bride! It was such an incredible day and I am so thankful to have gotten to photograph it! Anyone that meets Britta and Kyle leaves a better person and I am so grateful to have gotten to know the two of them! Congratulations Mr. + Mrs. Peterson! I couldn’t be happier for you and that you have found one another!
