Mr. + Mrs. Blenker
Paul and Ashley had been planning the wedding of their dreams for a looong time, so when COVID 19 came around and threw a wrench in everyone’s lives, they weren’t about to let that spoil their plans! Although they moved their big party to a later time in the year, they were still determined to get married on their wedding date! With just their parents and siblings in attendance, Ashley and Paul made the trip up the north shore to Palisade Head. Ashley’s brother, who also married both of Ashley’s other sisters, officiated the ceremony. They said their vows, exchanged rings, and became husband and wife on the edge of the biggest and most impressive cliff in the state.
It was such a privilege to be a part of this intimate and meaningful ceremony. Ashley and I had been discussing options for their wedding a few months ago when the news of the coronavirus began. My heart broke for her and Paul as I knew they might be giving up the day that they had looked forward to for so long. I was thrilled when she told me that they were still going to be married and would love for me to photograph it! There was something so special about this day. There was no stress or anxiety about details or a strict timeline to stick to. There were just two people in love that committed their lives to one another in the presence of those they are closest to! They were able to overcome an extremely difficult situation together and turn it into something beautiful. What an amazing way to start their marriage! And just to show that they have the perfect sense of humor to go with their tenacious personlities, you better check out how they celebrated after the ceremony….with Corona beer in the parking lot.
Congratulations Paul and Ashley! Thank you for allowing me to celebrate with you and to photograph some of the most epic wedding photos I have ever taken! I am beyond excited for you!
Signing of the marriage license on the bride and groom’s backs, because where else do you do this sort of thing when you get married on a cliff?
