A Bright and Sunny Buffalo Plaid Wedding

Denise had dreamed of a winter wonderland wedding when she began planning her big day! And although the forecast was quite the contrary with full sun, melting snow and temps in the 50’s, the day could not have been more perfect!

The day was packed with special memories and each detail held purpose and meaning. Denise and Matt’s “color” for their wedding was buffalo plaid. And although buffalo plaid is now trendy, it has held a special place in Denise and Matt’s life long before it became a fad! Denise and Matt refer to buffalo plaid as ‘Grandpa Plaid.’ Matt’s Grandpa could often be found wearing a red buffalo plaid trapper hat. And Denise’s Grandpa used to always wear plaid shirts. Blue was for every day and red buffalo plaid was for special occasions. The couple couldn’t think of a more special occasion than their wedding, so it seemed appropriate to choose buffalo plaid for their main theme!

The day went on without a hitch! Denise stunned everyone in her Diamond Bride dress and Matt looked dapper in his gray suit with a pheasant feather boutonniere! The wedding party, composed of cousins, siblings, and close friends had a blast celebrating with the couple and the church and ballroom were filled to the brim with so many others that came from near and far to congratulate the bride and groom! Dinner was mouth watering, the speeches were hilarious, and the night was filled with dancing to music from a live band! It was a perfect day.

And although I am so excited to share these beautiful photos with you, there was something about the day that was even more exciting to witness than the fun details and gorgeous golden hour photos. And that was easily seeing that Matt and Denise will go on to have a great marriage. The way they are unashamedly themselves around each other is so refreshing. They each are very different and complement each other in such a strong way. Matt is quiet, kind, laid back, an outdoorsman and a hard worker. Denise is driven and confident, beautiful and strong. They come alongside one another and make such a perfect pair! It was so heartwarming to see them care for one another and to be so excited to start their life together!

Congratulations Matt and Denise! Denny and I couldn’t be more excited for you! We had such a blast celebrating the start of your many, many years together!!
