Josh + Laura
It’s not too often that I get to be a guest at a wedding AND be the photographer! But, for Josh and Laura, I got to be both and what a privilege it was! I think it’s safe to say that anyone that is invited to a wedding is given a sense of honor that they were chosen to share in the couples celebration and the most wonderful day of their lives together. So getting to experience my friends’ entire wedding day first hand was quite the experience!
Laura and Josh were married on a chilly November day. There was just a bit of snow floating around in the air and we moved as quick as possible through the photo process! And although shooting in the cold temps can sometimes be difficult, Laura and Josh exude nothing but excitement and love in their wedding photos!
After the bulk of our photos were completed it was off to the church for the ceremony! This was also a very special piece of the wedding for me. Besides photographing a whole bunch of gorgeous weddings this past summer and fall, I was also busy with designing our church’s new to us building! Laura and Josh were the first couple to ever get married at New Song in our new building! As I photographed the ceremony, I saw the walls that many volunteers, including Josh and Laura, spent hours painting. I saw the chairs that we picked out filled with their family and friends. I heard the joyous sound of worship and laughter. And I saw a man and woman enter a marriage covenant before the Lord. What an amazing and rewarding thing it was!
After the ceremony, it was off to Thirteen Main for the reception! It was also the first time this one of a kind space held a wedding! Britta from The White Brick Company knocked it out of the park with the elegant and inviting design. Guests enjoyed live music, the best catered meal I have ever had, kransekake, and a wonderful time of socializing and celebrating!
Congratulations Josh and Laura! I really can’t express how blessed I feel to have been a part of your wedding day!
