North Shore Lake Superior Engagement Photos

I met Rachel a few years back when I photographed Tommy and Martha’s Wedding in the summer of 2016. Rachel was Martha’s maid of honor! I remember walking into the getting ready room on the morning of the wedding and introducing myself to all of the girls. When I met Rachel she had a smile that instantly made me feel welcome and comfortable-I also remember thinking how gorgeous she was! Throughout the day I loved getting to know her-seeing her interact with Martha and the other bridesmaids and listening to her sweet, sweet speech at the reception. An extra connection was made when I found out that Rachel is a photographer as well! After the wedding we became Facebook friends and I enjoyed following her business and seeing her updates pop up in my feed. And then this summer, when I saw Rachel got engaged, I was so excited for her and even more excited when she got in touch with me about wedding photography!!

I already knew what a gem Rachel was, so I was eager to meet Drew and get to know the two of them as a couple! We headed up the North Shore for their engagement session making stops at Gooseberry Falls and Palisade Head. Every time I get the chance to head up to Lake Superior’s gorgeous shoreline and experience the breathtaking views, I am always in awe. Sometimes I feel like I live in the middle of nowhere in northern Minnesota, but it’s really not true. Minnesota holds some of God’s most beautiful creation! The North Shore’s impressive waterfalls, mammoth cliffs, expansive forests, and ocean-like views never get old-whether you have experienced them once or hundreds of times!

This engagement session really was a dream come true in so many ways. As a photographer, getting to shoot engagement photos in locations like these was exhilarating enough, but to get to know Rachel and Drew-to hear about how they met, fell in love, and what their plans for the future hold was so endearing to my heart! I have so much love for these two already! They are seriously the cutest together and so much from what they shared with me made me smile-they already have such a great start to their relationship and understand so many things that will help them to have a happy and successful marriage. He is a hunter, fisherman-all things outdoorsy kind of guy…and Rachel is all about it-excited to learn and to experience Drew’s passions alongside him. Ask any guy how he feels about his wife eagerly joining him in the activities he pursues and he will tell you there are few things that could bring him more joy. They bake cheesecake together, have a mad obsession with swing dancing, and love Jesus with all their hearts!

Congratulations Rachel and Drew!! I couldn’t be happier for you and I can’t wait for your wedding next June!
