A Grand Rapids, MN Lakeside Destination Wedding
There is so much I could say about this beautiful wedding! It’s hard to even know where to begin. When Chelsea got in touch last fall about wedding photography I was already booked on their wedding day, so they changed their date! Say what!? I was blown away! I was honored and humbled to be their photographer!
Chelsea and James really are one of a kind. They are seriously some of the kindest, most caring people I have ever met! Being their photographer was a dream in every way. Over the course of this past year of planning for the wedding, I don’t think there was a single email from Chelsea that ended without her thanking me for everything. This surely isn’t a surprise to everyone that knows Chelsea, but it was to me!
As James and Chelsea’s wedding day approached, I was nervously checking the weather like I always do. It was hard to even sleep the night before as a big thunderstorm rolled through the area. I was laying in bed, looking out the window, watching the trees sway from side to side and just praying it would all end by the morning. Thankfully, the storm did pass by, but it ended up knocking down the power and a few trees at the wedding venue. And even though this would be enough to send most brides into a panic, when I arrived that morning, Chelsea was all smiles and as sweet as ever!
The day went on without a hitch. No more big storms were in the radar and the couple was able to enjoy their outdoor ceremony and tent reception with their many friends and family! Guests came from all over the world to celebrate with the bride and groom. People traveled from 14 different states and multiple countries to witness, support, and party with the newlyweds! It was a wedding I will never forget!
The couple is off enjoying their multi-location honeymoon which was planned by the groom and a surprise to the bride! They are currently in the Canary Islands off of the Moroccan coast. I’d say James did a pretty good job!
Congratulations James and Chelsea! Denny and I could not be more happy for you! We are so grateful to have been a part of your special day!! I hope you are soaking in that African sun and that you enjoyed your first official week as husband and wife!
