A “Spring” Engagement Session
When Noah and Kendra scheduled their engagement session for this spring, they probably envisioned a little green grass, new buds on the trees, and a warm breeze! I had the same picture in my mind, but was sadly disappointed that it still felt quite a bit like winter! I think we have all been surprised by the weather this spring! As I am writing this, a record-breaking blizzard is rolling through the twin cities, where Kendra lives. On April 14th, they have already gotten close to a foot of snow and it won’t be stopping soon! Unbelievable! And although there was no snow for their engagement session, it sure was cold!
We made a last minute decision to look for an indoor option for photos and boy am I glad we did! We were able to get into the Creamery 201, an up and coming industrial wedding venue in the heart of downtown Fort Atkinson, WI! I had never been to this location before, but my jaw just about hit the floor when I saw the endless windows and clean, beautiful light streaming in!
After a few warm and fun photos inside, we headed to a local park to finish out the session. This had been our original plan and I’m so glad we still made time for it! We were able to find a few spots that were hidden from the bitter cold wind and I think I love these photos just as much as the indoor ones! One of Noah and Kendra’s first dates was at this park-a beautiful nature conservation that boasts 514 acres of prairie, wooded paths, and wetlands.
It was such a joy to get to know these two and hear about their plans for their wedding and their future together!! Congratulations Noah and Kendra! I could not be more excited for you and I can’t wait for your warm June wedding!!
