An Intimate Country Wedding

Kathy and Dean have the kind of love that you see in classic movies-strong, deep, and trusting. A sacrificial love built on a friendship with deep roots that have already stood the test of time. I was invited into their home to witness one of the most beautiful weddings I have ever been to. It was simple and real. The focus was not on an expensive dress or fancy table decor-but on the bride and groom and their commitment to one another.

The flower bouquets were grown by the bride, the wedding party was made up of the couples’ children and the bride’s sister, and the ceremony took place in their backyard-the groom’s family farm on the prairie. The sun was shinning as the summer winds rolled across the backyard fields and you could hear the birds singing in the distance. It was the most perfect afternoon.

Even though I haven’t known Kathy and Dean for long, it was easy for me, and would be easy for anyone, to see the love they have for one another. As I watched them exchange their vows, it was obvious that this is a love that will last a lifetime!
